Country Senior Sales Executive

About the Role

The Country Senior Sales Executive will be responsible for driving the sales of Evergrow Organic Fertilizer across Kenya. This role will focus on structured lead generation, pipeline management, direct sales conversations, and coaching the corporate sales team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in agricultural sales, a proven track record of meeting sales targets, and the ability to build strong relationships with large farms, corporate farms, partners, and government entities. Additionally, the candidate will leverage personal contacts and an analytical approach to improve closing rates, shorten closing cycles, and increase the share of wallet with clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Structured Lead Generation (High Priority)

    • Develop and implement strategies for generating leads among large farms (>100 acres), corporate farms, partners, and government entities.

    • Identify and engage potential clients through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, and direct outreach.

  2. Pipeline Management

    • Oversee and manage the sales pipeline for the corporate sales team.

    • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of sales activities and progress towards targets.

  3. Direct Sales Conversations (High Priority)

    • Personally handle sales conversations to onboard large farms, corporate farms, and partners.

    • Achieve individual sales targets by effectively communicating the benefits of Evergrow Organic Fertilizer and closing deals.

  4. Coaching the Corporate Sales Team

    • Provide coaching and mentorship to the corporate sales team to help them achieve their targets.

    • Conduct training sessions and share best practices to improve the team's sales performance.

  5. Improving Sales Metrics

    • Enhance closing rates and shorten closing cycles by leveraging personal contacts within the industry.

    • Use an analytical approach to identify and resolve blocks that hinder sales performance.

    • Increase the share of wallet with existing clients through strategic relationship management and targeted sales efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with a focus on agricultural products or related industries.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong understanding of the agricultural sector and its sales dynamics in Kenya.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
